Commissioned by Konstruktiebedrijf Hillebrand B.V. Molenmaker Techniek B.V. designed, manufactured and supplied the hydraulic installation for the Wilhelmina lock in the Wilhelminacanal near Tilburg.
The Wilhelminacanal will be widened and deepened over a length of almost 5 kilometers. The waterway will also have a new lock and turning basin.
In January, work was carried out on the construction of an additional bridge at lock III. This temporary bridge provides access to the lock island, on which the new lock will be built. Thanks to the bridge, the equipment needed for the construction of the new lock can reach the lock island. The bridge will be located over the flushing channel at the height of the new lock. Work on lock III will start at the beginning of 2014. The installation of the four composite lock gates – the world’s largest – will take place in mid-2015.
